Telecommunications
The term cloud computing brings to mind a space far away where powerful computers reside, where disk space never runs out and where computing services are freely available to the masses. Actually, your typical cloud environment may be a very, very large building in rural Iowa built near a river that supplies inexpensive power. The thousands of computers in this typical data center are connected by miles of cables that are supported with an amazingly complex array of switches, routers and intelligent patch panels.
WDDinc has had the opportunity to explore some of the world’s largest, most complex data centers because of our work for the telecommunication industry. Our products provide data center managers with the ability to electronically wander through their physical environment, virtualize their infrastructure and bring visual order to physical complexity. Not only does our software allow Data Center managers to visualize their world, it also provides monitoring capabilities that report connectivity and availability problems. Additionally, our software provides the ability to determine new configurations, set up provisioning orders and monitor the timely completion of these orders.
WDDinc’s software has allowed data centers to remove the thousands of Post-It notes from their cables and panels. It has allowed some rest for their technicians. It has helped run some of the largest data centers in the world.
We do telecomm well.
